Therapy for Rebuilding Trust

Can I count on you when it matters?

You may be here because of something that happened or because of things that have gone unaddressed for a long time. Promises have not been kept. Difficult conversations remain unfinished. You have asked for support and felt alone.

You want to know that your feelings matter, that agreements will be honored, and that your partner will respond when you need them.

At Couples Chat Therapy, I help partners understand how trust has been damaged, address the hurt, and get specific about what needs to change.

Has it become harder to rely on each other?

You may still love your partner while questioning whether you can depend on them. Couples therapy for rebuilding trust gives you space to address concerns like these:

  • Your partner says things will change, but you keep having the same conversation.
  • You hesitate to share your feelings because previous attempts were dismissed, criticized, or used against you.
  • You have felt alone during moments when you needed support.
  • Agreements about parenting, money, household responsibilities, or other relationships are not consistently honored.
  • Infidelity, secrecy, or withheld information has left you questioning what you can believe.
  • Apologies happen, but the impact of what happened remains unaddressed.
  • You want to reconnect, but unresolved hurt makes it difficult to let your guard down.
  • You are unsure what would help you trust again or whether your partner is willing to do it.

What would rebuilding trust look like in daily life?

It may mean your partner answers your question honestly and fully the first time you ask. Having an agreement honored when you are not there to check. Being able to express hurt and receive acknowledgment. Seeing your partner take initiative rather than waiting for you to explain what needs attention.

Together, we will get specific about the changes that matter to you and assess whether those changes are happening.

You can begin without knowing how this ends.

You do not have to promise forgiveness or commit to staying before seeking support. We can begin with what happened, what you need now, and whether repair is something you want to pursue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hello@coupleschattherapy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Absolutely. Rebuilding trust in a relationship can involve repeated disappointments, unkept promises, emotional disconnection, money concerns, or feeling unsupported when it mattered. We will identify the experiences that damaged trust and get specific about what reliability and repair would look like now.

You do not have to promise forgiveness to begin couples therapy. We can start with what happened, how it continues to affect you, and what you need to understand or see change. Whether you forgive or continue the relationship remains your decision.

We will identify changes you can recognize in daily life. Are agreements being kept? Are questions answered honestly? Can you express hurt and receive acknowledgment? We will assess what is happening over time, including whether you feel more able to rely on your partner.
